Fr O’Brien Shield Final 2014

Newtown N.S. 'v' Monivea N.S.

Oh what an effort, oh what skill,
Newtown displayed on the pitch on the hill.
Til at 7 the shield was raised,
By Shane and all his team were praised.

At the pitch early, warm-up done,
Jab lift, the dribble, sprints and a run.
Like the All Blacks into tacklebag smashed,
Left and right shoulder into it crashed.

Jamie in goal almost impossible to get past,
Simon, Ólin and Shane cleared their lines fast.
Glenn and Darragh ran to a standstill,
Glenn, Jack and Lennon’s scores did thrill.

Off the gym from the downpour,
All Newtown names greeted with a roar.
Thanks to all subs, supporters and friends,
A memory to treasure as the season ends.
